Fort Verde State Historic Park Presents: The OK Chorale
(Phoenix, Arizona - May 23, 2011) Fort Verde State Historic Park will host the OK Chorale in concert from 2-3PM on Saturday, May 28th in Camp Verde. The OK Chorale Trio is dedicated to the preservation of this exciting era of western history through telling of the stories in a unique and entertaining way. Don't miss this group who blends the wonderful sounds of a real cowboy harmony with the fascinating history of the Old West.
Recently, the OK Chorale wrote a song about a soldier from Fort Verde who was the last Cavalry Trooper killed in the 30-year war with the Apache Tribe of the Southwest. They will sing the song at the place where PVT. Joseph McLernon once lived, in addition to other songs about the military. Re-enactors will be in period clothing to provide answers to your questions about the history of Fort Verde.
"Hold the Fort," a 501 C3 non-profit, is dedicated to the mission of keeping Fort Verde State Historic Park open and will provide light refreshments following the concert.
