Cliff Castle Casino’s Lodge is offering a special Alcantara Vineyard Harvest Festival Package September 24 – September 28, 2009.Guests are asked to mention the word “Alcantara” when calling for hotel reservations to receive a special week-day and week-end rate.
The Casino will provide complimentary shuttle service for anyone interested to and from Alcantara Vineyard Saturday, September 26, from 11am-5pm from the Casino main entrance for the annual Vineyard Harvest Festival.Participants in the Festival Package will also receive free Cliff Castle Casino gifts.
Alcantara Vineyards is the first winery on Arizona’s Verde River and is one of the largest vineyards in Central and Northern Arizona. It rambles across limestone terraces above the Verde River in a picturesque setting. A Tuscan-style farmhouse serves as a tasting room and is open daily for tastings; tours are given on Fridays and Saturdays.
Guests are also encouraged to bring a picnic basket to enjoy the Vineyard’s outside balcony and grass area.
The vineyard has over 13,000 vines and 12 different varietals. The winery tasting room offers guests an easy going, comfortable experience.
Hours and Details: The tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tasting fee is $8.00 per person, and includes a take-home glass with an etched logo of Alcantara Vineyard.
Wine Tasting & Tour Information: Alcantara’s tours offer a guide through the vineyard with information about trellising, irrigation, varietals and the philosophy of growing grapes. Tours last approximately 1-1/2 hours, depending on the number of guests and questions asked.
