The arrival of a fabulous Fall in Old Town Cottonwood

This September mosey on down to Old Town Cottonwood and enjoy a multitude of events along Historic 89A!

The crown jewel event of September is Thunder Valley Rally. Sept 16-18 enjoy over 20 bands including Willie Nelson and Family, and Shawn Phillips, and immerse yourself in true motorcycle culture. Events span from Old Town into greater Cottonwood and over to Cliff Castle Casino. For more information call Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department at (928) 639-3200.

OLD TOWN CENTER FOR THE ARTS (OTCA) Opens for a new Fall Season with two performances in September.  Come see SHAWN PHILLIPS on Saturday, September 17, 7:30 pm, $20 adv, $22 door, $25 priority. Shawn Phillips is a pioneer and visionary, whose made a deep impact on rock, folk and many musical genres. He has influenced and collaborated with such luminaries as Donovan, George Harrison, and Paul Buckmaster, and his career 20 albums have sold more than 9 million copies worldwide.
 

Also at OTCA, enjoy the HEAVENLY J’s on Saturday, September 24, 7:30pm. $20 general admission (advance and door). The magic of the 60’s, Woodstock, and counterculture come to OTCA with a creative musical tribute to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison, and many other ‘J’s who now reside in ‘rock heaven.’  The show features a cast of 12 of the regions best performers, including Sammy Davis, Suzie Shoemaker, and Dan Bresnan.    
 

Arizona Stronghold Vineyards (ASV) Tasting Room in Old Town presents another month of Live Music Friday’s 9/2– 6-9pm features a fun mix of Classic Covers and Beatles hits with a Reggae Rock twist, join us to rock with Cromatics. 9/9– 6-9pm - enjoy acoustic guitar by Jay Fout. 9/16– 6-9pm – Join us for Thunder Valley Rally! Old Town will be hopping with live music all down the block.  ASV will have local favorite PK Gregory, performing a myriad of folk influenced tunes! 9/23
– 6-9pm– Powerful vocal duo, Redland Sedona, will bring their diverse musical backgrounds, original songs and perfect harmonial balance to the ASV Tasting Room.  
 

And... Join Page Springs Cellars for their most popular event of the year, the 6th Annual Harvest Festival, to be held on Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at the center of the Estate Vineyard next to the picturesque Oak Creek Canyon. Tickets are $28 for Page Springs Cellars and Arizona Stronghold Wine Club Members, $38 for the general public.  If available, tickets will be $10 more on the day of the event.  Kids 12 and under get in free. Limited camping is available for $25 (includes onsite parking) – reservations are required.  Doors open at 3pm, music starts at 3:30. There will be no onsite parking, however, free shuttles from offsite lots will be provided. This is NOT an Old Town event, but we like to cross-promote it to support their Old Town sister tasting room ASV.
 

At Rendezvous in Old Town (RIOT) enjoy the following music for September: 9/2 Redland, 9/3 DJ RX, 9/9 Chromatics, 9/10 Kat's Vyktrola, 9/16 Vyktoria Keeting
9/17 12 pm Mike Morris and 6 pm Alan James Band (during Thunder Valley Rally), 9/18 PK Gregory, 9/24 Tommy and Chicky Trio. Also at RIOT on September 14th come play at Wet Nose Wednesday! A Fundraising Event for the Verde Valley Humane Society. Tickets are $20 that include 3 beer tasters from Sleepy Dog Brewery in Tempe AZ and "treats" by Orion Bread Company. Door prizes, auction. 
 

Always enjoyable in Old Town is taking a stroll and taste. Wine tasting rooms include ASV, Pillsbury, The Wine Cellar and The Wine Bar, beer tasting is at RIOT, cheese and chocolate tastings at Bonne Lait, and gelato tastings at Crema. If you've had too much to taste and don't want to drive, stay at one of our fabulous lodgings. The Annabel Inn B&B and the Historic Cottonwood Hotel are within walking distance.
 

The Manheim Gallery and the Cate Gallery will also be re-opening for their new Fall Seasons, and the Farmer's Market will continue every Thursday from 5pm until dusk.
