February 15-16, 2014 Buffalo Soldiers at Fort Verde State Park: Reenactors portray the all-Negro regiments that once served at Fort Verde, as a celebration of African American Heritage Month. Activities will also include living history presentations, riding demonstrations and a vintage baseball game.
History of the Soldier at Fort Verde State Park: Come experience a military timeline of our history, from the Revolutionary War to present day. Presentations, military drills, fashions show, vintage baseball and a period church service Sunday morning. The camps, cannon and soldiers will all be on the parade field for this annual event.
June 7 to October 4, 2014 Verde Valley Farmers Market: The Verde Valley farmers Market brings dozens of local gardeners and producers to the Gazebo on Hollamon Street, just outside the gates of Fort Verde, every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon. This is an old fashion farmers market that focuses on homegrown produce and food products.
July 18-19, 2014 Cornfest: First celebrated 22 years ago, Cornfest pays homage to the Verde Valley’s famous sweet corn, grown at Hauser and Hauser Farms in Camp Verde. This is a “corny” old fashioned family event with plenty of food, fun, games, music, vendors and, of course, sweet corn. Visitors can also enjoy a Vintage baseball At Fort Verde State Historic Park and kids are encouraged to learn how to make Victorian Christmas ornaments as part of a Christmas in July celebration.
September 28, 2014 Colonel’s Daughter completion at Fort Verde State Historic Park. Where most communities have a parade queen or a rodeo queen, Camp Verde celebrates its annual Fort Verde Days with the crowning of the Colonel’s Daughter. Chosen for poise, presence and horsemanship, the Colonel’s Daughter serves as the town’s ambassador during the three-day celebration in October.
October 10-11-12, 2014 Fort Verde Days: Now in its 58th year, Fort Verde Days not only celebrates the military post around which the community of Camp Verde grew, but also serves as the community’s annual homecoming. A carnival, parade and a host of events at Fort Verde State Historic Park highlight the annual event.
December 6 Christmas Bazaar and Light Parade: Camp Verde’s Christmas season officially kicks of the first Saturday in December with the all-day Christmas Craft Bazaar and the Parade of Lights down Main Street in the evening.
