Dead Horse Ranch State Park is one of 5 State Parks in the Sedona Verde Valley region. The park is located in Cottonwood, Arizona. The 423-acre park is an oasis for wildlife. The park has 10 miles of well maintained trails (some connect to form loops). The parks also offers 16 tent areas or 150 camp sites. A popular activity is fishing in the Verde River or in the 4-acre lagoon. Dead Horse Ranch State Park hosts two festivals each year: The Verde Valley Birding & Nature Festival in April and the Verde River Days in September.
